Here’s to another REMARKABLE MONDAY, my friend!

The inspiration for our exploration today comes courtesy of my friend Sam who delivered a powerful sermon for Easter, Resurrection Sunday yesterday.

What Are You Going To Do Now?

Sam, who Pastors Story Church here in Atlanta, GA, shared how his mother’s death impacted him profoundly. A moment of reckoning came after taking the necessary steps to lay his mom to rest.

He detailed the journey from receiving the call to finally arriving home after the funeral and repast. It was in the vulnerable place, at home, thinking to himself, “What am I going to do now? What am I going to do to continue her legacy?”

Juxtapose that experience with that of Jesus’ disciples after His death, resurrection, and ascension. By the time we get to Acts 1, the disciples are also in a “what now” moment. All they would have to do is trust that Jesus’ words from just a few verses earlier.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8 (NLT)

Today’s Call to Action

As you might have gathered, I believe these words from the Bible that were written so long ago but still have power today. My hope for you as you read this is to challenge you to ask yourself, just as I did in church yesterday:

What am I going to do in response to what Jesus has done for me? How do I continue his legacy? Here is my response:

  1. Share the love of Christ

  2. Live generously

  3. Trust the leading of the Holy Spirit

What is your response?
