When I first moved into our Atlanta-area home nearly two years ago, I was excited about the possibility of having a lush, green lawn that would be the envy of the neighborhood. I pictured summer barbecues and children playing, with everyone admiring my perfectly manicured yard.

However, I soon realized I had a lot to learn about lawn care if I would achieve this on my own. Not to mention, my neighbor across the street was not playing games with his yard maintenance. He achieved the greenest of lawns in record time. But all hope was not lost!
