Quote of the Week

"Done is better than perfect."
-Sheryl Sandberg

The quote is most famously associated with the Facebook COO and author, who has written about embracing it to move past unattainable standards.

Recruiter Roundtable Recap

Last Thursday, I did something that would’ve terrified me a few months ago — I showed up to a networking event.

It was a creator economy mixer curated by Lloyd Not George, someone I originally followed on Threads but have since learned a ton from about UGC and content strategy. I went because I promised myself that during this Remarkable45 challenge, I’d do things that push me out of my comfort zone — and this event did exactly that.

Between the conversations, the laughter, and a few quiet moments of reflection afterward, I walked away with a handful of insights that I can’t shake. Lessons that are already shaping how I approach this next phase of growth.

Main Story: What the First Week of the Challenge Taught Me

Last Thursday, I did something that would’ve terrified me a few months ago — I showed up to a networking event.

It was a creator economy mixer curated by Lloyd Not George, someone I originally followed on Threads but have since learned a ton from about UGC and content strategy. I went because I promised myself that during this Remarkable45 challenge, I’d do things that push me out of my comfort zone — and this event did exactly that.

Between the conversations, the laughter, and a few quiet moments of reflection afterward, I walked away with a handful of insights that I can’t shake — lessons that are already shaping how I approach this next phase of growth.

#1: Done Is Better Than Perfect

Perfection is the enemy of progress — and I’ve learned that the hard way.
I used to spend hours refining details no one else would notice, convincing myself it wasn’t ready yet. But the truth is, momentum creates clarity. Every piece of content I ship, every imperfect post, brings me one step closer to mastery.

#2: You Don’t Have to Build Alone

When you’re just starting, it’s easy to believe you have to do everything yourself. But at that event, I was reminded that community is the ultimate growth hack. Even in a world filled with AI and automation, nothing replaces connection. Whether it’s collaborating with other creators, outsourcing tasks, or simply asking for advice — building together is how you go further, faster.

#3: Leverage the Tools You Already Have

Speaking of AI and automation, instead of constantly chasing the next new app or system, I’ve been digging deeper into tools I already use. For instance, I set up a simple Instagram text automation that replies to new followers and anyone who comments “Remarkable.”

It automatically sends a message and adds them to this very newsletter. Between that and the webinar we hosted, our community has grown 37.5% in the past month — and we’re still maintaining an open rate above 50%. That’s the power of working smarter, not harder.

#4: Preparation Meets Opportunity

One of the most inspiring people I met that night was a woman who built her own podcast — now with NPR — while initially working as a truck driver. She told me how careful scripting and thoughtful preparation helped her stand out in a crowded field. Her story reminded me how small disciplines can compound into extraordinary outcomes.

The Takeaway

Growth doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through small, consistent steps that compound over time. This week, ask yourself: What small step can I take to move forward, even if it’s not perfect? Here’s to another week of becoming more remarkable, one intentional action at a time.

Until next time,
