Inspiring Insights from Nokia’s Incredible Evolution
Inspiring Insights from Nokia’s Incredible Evolution
Last week, we took time to refocus. Between then and now, I came across a viral tweet that really caught my attention. It highlighted Nokia's incredible transformation over its 157-year history.
Did you know that Nokia, the tech giant we know today, started as a toilet paper manufacturer? Fredrik Idestam, a Finnish-Swede, opened a pulp mill, and after establishing a second mill in the town of Nokia in 1871, the brand was officially born.
Nokia started as a paper mill in 1865.
One of its first products: toilet paper.

Fast forward to the late 1960s, and Nokia made a crucial pivot into electronics, which changed everything. In 1967, the company merged with two others, forming a corporation with four distinct businesses, one of which specialized in electronics.
Under the visionary leadership of CEO Kari Kairamo in the late 1970s, Nokia aimed to emulate Japanese electronics giants like Sony and Samsung. This strategic shift led to the production of its first micro-computer and, eventually, the mobile phones that would revolutionize the industry.
By 2007, Nokia was a global powerhouse, with over half of the world's mobile phones sporting the Nokia name. It's fascinating to see how a company that started with such humble beginnings evolved into a leader in the tech world.
So, how can this inspire you? Just like Nokia, you have the potential to redefine your path. Here are a few takeaways to consider:
Embrace Change: Don't be afraid to pivot when necessary. Change can lead to growth and new opportunities.
Leverage Your Strengths: Identify what you do best and find ways to expand on those strengths.
Stay Visionary: Keep an eye on the future and be ready to innovate and adapt.
Remember, your past does not define your future. Whether you're looking to switch careers, start a new project, or simply improve your current situation, the key is to remain open, resilient, and forward-thinking.
Let's make this week about embracing change and seeking new horizons. I believe in you!

I refuse to believe it’s been 30 years since “Sister Act 2” hit the big screen. I was only 5 years old, apparently. However, I refuse to believe I’m that old.
Putting that aside, I couldn’t help but go down memory lane because this arrangement has stuck with me since I saw it as a kid.
