Here’s to another REMARKABLE MONDAY, my friend!

I'll confess, movies and television shows about organized crime are my guilty pleasure. I know, I know, before you launch into the lecture about the violence and drugs portrayed in them, hear me out.

According to Merriam-Webster, a code is “a system of principles or rules.” In these dramas, on-screen mobsters and drug lords operate by a code that defies convention but safeguards their survival and success.

My message to you today is: Remember your code.

No, I’m not encouraging you to start an organized crime enterprise. But I am pressing you to get clear about your inner constitution. The system by which you filter everything that comes your way. Understand?

My Unofficial Yet Very Official Code

Here are three of the many rules of the road that have served me well:

Be The Same “Mark” In Every Room: All you have is your integrity. Does the person you show up as translate to every room you are in, or are you changing your stripes to hustle for acceptance? Be the same person in every room. The future "you” will be so grateful.

God Is My Source: There will be times when ambition or fear can lead to decisions that are not pointed toward your God-given purpose. Remember, God is your source. There is always another door, another opportunity. God is not short on people or opportunities to bless you. I love how the Bible puts it:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

All Money Aint Good Money: There will be some irresistible offers you need to resist because they don’t align with your long-term goal. And that’s okay.
