Quote of the Week

“When you give to others to the degree that you sacrifice yourself, you make the other person a thief … becase their stealing from you what you need, and they don’t even know it.”

Recruiter Roundtable Recap

Last week, I sat down with Chasity Palmer from Chick-fil-A and John Campbell from Bader Law for a Remarkable Monday Recruiter Roundtable to talk about what hiring really looks like behind the scenes.

They shared what makes a résumé stand out, why rejection isn’t always the end, and how faith and resilience can carry you through a slow job market.

This conversation was honest, practical, and surprisingly encouraging. It was the kind that reminds you your next opportunity might not be far away.

Main Story: You Can’t Pour From an Empty Cup

There’s a moment every ambitious person reaches. You realize your drive is outrunning your capacity. You’re still showing up, still producing, still pushing, but something underneath is running on fumes.

This week, I want to challenge you to lead differently. Let’s show up from fullness, not depletion. Whether it’s your career, your business, or your personal growth, everything you build flows from the peace of mind you protect.

How are we going to do that?

Insight #1: Protect the First Hour

Before you give your best energy to everyone else, give it to yourself. The first hour of your day sets the emotional tone for the rest of it. Instead of checking email or scrolling, fill your cup intentionally through prayer, journaling, movement, or quiet. You can’t start the day pouring out if you haven’t poured in.

Insight #2: Say “No” Without Apology

Rest doesn’t require permission. It requires priorities. Boundaries aren’t selfish; they’re stewardship. This week, try this: When asked to take on something new, don’t respond immediately. Give yourself space to evaluate: Does this align with my current goals or drain from them? A thoughtful pause protects your peace.

Insight #3: Redefine What Productive Looks Like

Sometimes filling your cup is the most productive thing you can do. Busyness feels like progress, but burnout proves otherwise. This week, try this: Replace one “doing” block on your calendar with a “being” block — a quiet walk, a midday reset, or simply nothing at all. Stillness refills what striving empties.

Stillness refills what striving empties.

Until next time,
